Ramshot Hunter Powder?

I bought an 8 lb jug on a compulsive move thinking it was slower burning then it is....what caliber guns does anyone here experience good success with it? I was looking for an alternative 300 Winchester magnum powder with the shortage and other then hodgdon my experience is limited...

I haven't ran it in my .300WM but I have in my 30-06 and. 270. It was pretty good. I would imagine you could run it in the Win Mag. I may run it on Quickload with a few different bullets and see how it looks.

I look at it as a decent powder for 30-06 sized cases with 110-165gr bullets. Its not a very good powder from what ive seen but its acceptable for a sporter weight hunting rifle

Best powder I have for my 338 Win Mag.

Used to use Rem 19 with 225's. 72 gr. gave me 2700 fps. Using Ramshot Hunter i now get 2760fps using 70 grs. BEST accuracy results I ever had with big "smilies" in my notes talking about far sub moa groups at 100 yards and a recent 3" group at 400 yards with a 9X scope.

Told you - best powder i have found for my 338 Win Mag and 225 gr. Hornady SST's.

I got an 8 pounder in for testing on my shortened .284
Winchester. After initial testing, I needed to find something
faster then H4831sc and better case fill using the 168 class
bullets. I found a great node at 2825 fps using WLR primers
I use for case forming. I did a test batch with BR2's and
lost 20 fps with accuracy still there. With a couple of hundred
of rounds down range, I'm finding it falls almost in between
Reloader 16, and H4831.....It does leave some soot with my
application, more then the above mentioned powders. Going
to try and get in some 180 Bergers to test with it. So far so
good that I ordered another 8 pounder just in case.

As tested in my SA284 with 171 gr Barnes MB's and BR2's

I ran it in a 7-08 with 168 Burgers and it was a hammer with a lot more speed than Varget or 4350.

I have used it for years in a 300 saum running 210 Berger's at Ridgeway. Done a fair amount of winning matches. Hotter the temperature the better it shoots...

Believe it or not, Hunter doesn’t do too bad in the 220 Swift either. I loaded a bunch of ammo using it for a prairie dog shoot a few years ago. Plenty accurate and fast enough.
