Railgun configurations...?

I have my Railgun about ready. That said, I have a theoretical question for those of you who shoot them.

Competitors here have told me, when I asked about switching barrels, that that is not recommended. Accuracy issues, they tell me.

So, I have another question, or two.

1. It is common practice to have one LV/sporter/HV rifle, and switch out barrels between LV and HV Classes. Why would switching barrels not affect accuracy there, but would in the Railgun?

2. I have a sleeved 700 that I switch barrels on. Would it work to take a sleeve I have, and glue an accurized 700 SA into it; then have a mounting plate made to fit my Railgun so I could switch barrels on for various cartridges?

I will tell you, I do not plan to shoot it in competition, I will be 70 this year, and I wear Tri-Focals. This would allow me to satisfy my curiousity about different cartridges. and especially testing cast bullets in my 308. Think "Fun Gun".

Your theory sounds reasonable to me. If my Rail and Panda had the same tennon I would shoot all my different calibers on the Rail.We share the same age and eye problems.I bought the Rail so if I get to the point I can no longer see to aim,I can get someone to aim it for me and I'll still shoot. The range is HOT bro.commence fire.

I've been switching barrels frequently on all my comp rifles for +15-years.
Never once experienced an accuracy issue or negative aspect from doing so.

I keep a log for each barrels scope zero (X amount of clicks from the bottom & left).
Switch a barrel, click the scope to its zero, and good to go, and repeatable.

The first few years, I marked the barrels with an index line to the action, but don't bother with that anymore.
Used a torque wrench for a while, but haven't bothered with that either for many years.

I had a switch barrel system for years, then one day Lester Bruno w,as shooting next to me and it was time to change from LV to HV and he said to me why would you change guns when your rifle is in tune and your shooting pretty Well! He said stick with what’s shooting, later he told me he only uses the LV gun for the entire match.
Now let’s talk rail guns, If you had an older Hassecuster rail where the action is bedded and screwed directly to the top you could certainly change barrels pretty easily, however all the new rails use an integrated bedding block with either a round channel or a V groove through the block which would be unreasonable to change while shooting a match because there are 8 bolts that are removed in order to remove the barreled action from the block. There are time constraints between matches and even the best shooters would be hard pressed to change out a barrel on a rail during a match!
It would also be very difficult if your not shooting matches and doing it for fun with cast bullets!

I don’t think the cast lead Bullets are gonna care which barrel they come out of
Nothing wrong with switching barrels just takes the time to stop and do it
