I have a 1960's benchrest rifle built on a Sako L-46 single-shot action. Presently it has a 2 piece Weaver mount that engages the Sako dovetails. I have started shooting it at 500 yards for fun and annoyance. The fun part is trying to make a .222 Rem fly that far. The annoyance is that I ran out of elevation in my scope. It seems to be a limitation with the Nightforce Benchrest I put on it. My old T-36 had enough adjustment.
So I'm looking for a 20 MOA rail that will interface with the L-46 action dovetails. Can any of you point me in the right direction? The L-46 dovetails may in fact be the same as modern Sako dovetails, but I'm clueless about that.
Another option is to use Burris rings having the elevation inserts, but those gave me fits in the past. Instead, I'd really like to find a suitable 20 MOA rail.
Thanks for any advice folks! Here's a couple photographs.
