Radical True Velocity Ammo Failures

Blazer has been making aluminum 9mm ammo that works for years. it is only a matter of time till someone figures it out. I imagine that they can do it now but probably just not a cost effective way.

This is what we get when non-shooters design products for shooters. Something tells me the engineer responsible has her hair in a bun.
I believe the intent was to make lighter ammo so that military personnel could carry more rounds without increasing weight… it’s kinda important to them when in a fire fight!

We went down this road with .223/5.56. IIRC, that experiment lasted a couple years.
I remember those. Seemed to work pretty well. Sized the neck, loaded them up and went shooting. Hell, I'll try anything. ;)
If you had any problems with the .308, first place I would look was the headspace of the case.
Don't remember having any issues with the .223/5.56.

In the video I posted in post #4, they show a red “LocTite” substance that helps hold the bullet in the case so it doesn’t move under recoil while in a magazine or while chambering.

Anybody have any idea how the burned residue from this will affect affect a barrel’s ID?

In the fall I hunt with caseless ammunition. I just dump some powder down the barrel and put a projectile on top of it. It doesn't even use primers. It has a reusable ignitor that's good for 20-30 shots. Pretty darn high tech IMHO

I don't believe the military has stayed with them either. Another way to try and reduce weight. Just stick to good olf tried and true brass.
1lb weight reduction per 80 rounds carried certainly isn’t anything to risk a soldier’s life over. If you send a guy into war, you better be damn sure that his rifle is accurate and his ammo goes boom every time. This shit seems like a nightmare. And at $3.50 per round that is the same range as 50 BMG.
A HUGE NO THANK YOU FOR THIS GUY. AND FOR THAT REASON, I’M OUT.

The Wanda case was moulded from polycarbonate plastic. Activ was polyethylene plastic with a steel head. It was a good shell. I never heard of Eclipse shells but heard good things about their targets
Sorry to the op. My dad had a few eclipse hulls at one time. I think Dan Bonillas shot for the Eclipse shell company briefly also.
