Just another attempt to take the money from the non-reloading Creedmoor fans.
Do they even make it for the Creedmoor cartridges ? Funny how so many slam the Creedmoors and I bet never shot one.Just another attempt to take the money from the non-reloading Creedmoor fans.
I believe the intent was to make lighter ammo so that military personnel could carry more rounds without increasing weight… it’s kinda important to them when in a fire fight! This is what we get when non-shooters design products for shooters. Something tells me the engineer responsible has her hair in a bun.
Local Cabels has them here as well. They don't seem to be selling very well..I saw these at Cabelas. I was tempted but the price made me pass. I am so glad!
I remember those. Seemed to work pretty well. Sized the neck, loaded them up and went shooting. Hell, I'll try anything. We went down this road with .223/5.56. IIRC, that experiment lasted a couple years.
Yes I remember them, shot some of them. Also shot activ shells still have new shells and hulls for them. What could possibly go wrong? Anybody remember Wanda shotgun shells from 50 years ago?
1lb weight reduction per 80 rounds carried certainly isn’t anything to risk a soldier’s life over. If you send a guy into war, you better be damn sure that his rifle is accurate and his ammo goes boom every time. This shit seems like a nightmare. And at $3.50 per round that is the same range as 50 BMG.I don't believe the military has stayed with them either. Another way to try and reduce weight. Just stick to good olf tried and true brass.
Sorry to the op. My dad had a few eclipse hulls at one time. I think Dan Bonillas shot for the Eclipse shell company briefly also. The Wanda case was moulded from polycarbonate plastic. Activ was polyethylene plastic with a steel head. It was a good shell. I never heard of Eclipse shells but heard good things about their targets
Activ was a great development. Ditto your experience.I
My dad remember the Wanda shells. I can barely remember Eclipse shells, I've shot a ton of Activ shells in a wore out Model 12.
