Raccoon Eradication

Place Golden Malrin fly bait granuals in pie pan, cover bottom) and the pour Coke, red can) to where it just covers it up and set it out about 2 hrs before dark. They will drink the poision because of the sweetness in the coke and will drink it till its gone.It kills the coon usually with sight of the pan.A coon doesnt have the ability to throw up like some mammmals so its lights out.I raise quail part time and Im forever having problems with coons getting into my feed barrels or tearing the legs and heads off my birds at nite.I promise this stuff works.I killed 4 coons in one nite last year..everyone of the nasty*%*%%%&^% died within 10ft of one another.Looked like a Jim Jones scene.Just shovel and shut up.Its legal for me as they are destroying a souce of income.

Will the deer, turkey, or any other birds possible like that sweet stuff too? The last thing I want to do is poison any of the game out there.

We are planning on going out to the property in June, so if anyone still wants to go coon hunting in this area, give me a shout. The cost is right... FREE!!!!

No...I live in deer country and never had a problem..rememeber the coon cant throw up,thats why it kills them.Coons love anything sweet so they will hit it first and drink all of itIn about 2hrs the granuals melt and the mixture gets kinda thick like syrup so they lick it up actually.Good luck!

I have three raccoons in my backyard nightly. I feed them raw eggs and sunflower seeds. They behave themselves, and never mess with my garbage can. On rare occasion, I give them some canned salmon. They catch crayfish in my creek, of which I have hundreds. Thus far, they've never attacked me. If ever they became so bold, I'd shoot them stone-cold, but so far, they are merely cute woodland creatures. cliffy

I live in the city now, and two doors over, an old woman has been feeding the raccoons.

All of the other neighbors hate the raccoons.

My wife is bent, because they have been coming into the house to get cat food.

I called the city and county to come and get rid of them, but they said I am on my own. They suggested I pay for a trapper.

Get your self a 50 gallon drum tie a gunny sack on the out side and put some bacon in the bottom of the drum. they can clime in but they cant clime out.

In our neck of the woods, coons get fed Blue Streak fly bait mixed with Coke. From what I've heard, they never misbehave thereafter.;)

I REALLY like this idea. I have over a dozen of those blue water barrels that I can use for this. I was thinking about placing a few of these around. I could take 1 barrel, pound a t-post in the ground, and strap the barrel to the t-post to ensure they do not tip it over and get out. I could also strap a 2x4 to the t-post to ensure they have something easy to climb up to get into the barrel.

Can anyone thing of anything else that would enhance this method?

Zombie Killer, work with your neighbors. Sly deception may not work, especially with fervent cat-lovers. Kill-a-cat: Alienate- a-neighbor. City-life is a catch twenty-two. Even in the country-living scenario, I find neighbors too close to declare war upon any particular critter. My 'next door' neighbor abhors woodchucks and regularily asks me to terminate them. 'Fritz' is the only woodchuck in our neighborhood. I refuse to kill Fritz, since he is a loner that destroys nothing. Our area is lousy with Chipmunks, but only the cats in our area deal with them. I rather like chipmunks, packrats that they are. Raccoons are thick in our neighborhood, yet no demand for eratication has ever been asked of me. Since we all have a flowing creek through our back yards, the Raccoons thrive on crayfish, so they damage nothing, such as our garbage cans. Again work with your neighbors regarding what they wish to be rid-of. Most will likely not want cats to be killed, yet feral cats are the real threat. Cliffy

what part of texas do you live zombie killer. i will be more than happy to drive out there and help you out. a bunch of that stuff mentiond sounds like a lot of hard work. i agree that deer may come in quicker if the see a coon eating first or any other creature for that matter. but i don't think it really matters all that much on a ranch where they get fed year round. if it were me i would set a couple of snares and try to critter proof your feeders. blasting 'ol woody woodpecker at night would also put a seriouse dent in their population.

I know there are lots of raccoon recipes, but I have just been putting them in a plastic bag and putting the plastic bag in the garbage can.

Thanks Badger. Thats exactly what I need. An angry badger out there to take care of my Raccoon problems. :-)

Maybe you and J22-250 can come out one weekend. Since we are quickly approaching deer season, all the eradication plans, firearms related) are being put on hold till next Feb. I will most certianly have a rodent blasting party this winter/early spring.

I'm heading out there in a couple of weeks for our annual dove hunt with the boys, so I'll try the old 55 gal barrel trick out there in a few places.

My place is in Coleman county, between Santa Anna and Ballinger.
