R-P 6br brass

I recently bought a supply of R-P 6br brass from a member here and I was told to use caution by some friends of mine. I primarily bought this brass for 100 yard practice with lighter bullets. With 28 grains of Benchmark and a 75 grain Hornady HP the brass did pretty fair on an SR1 target for offhand practice. I cleaned and reprimed it and I didn't see any abnormalities.

Do any of you folks use R-P brass?

Just curious. Does it have the standard large flash hole diameter, or the smaller one that Lapua and Norma has?

The flash hole is the standard size and the primer pocket is small rifle. I think it is good enough for short range practice 0n an SR target.

I bought a bag of 204 ruger brass. 51 peices are useable and 50 arnt worth useing. There were 101 in my 100 bag.

The worst ones have a bent in neck and some material is missing even after trimming.

I tryed contacting remington and they said they would replace it no problems. Untill they found out I live in Canada. They gave my a number for a place in Canada to call. I called them and they wont do anything about it.

Maybe this problem is normal tho. I got a bag of Nosler custom brass and it has little nics in the neck also. Kind of made me mad becuase its over 4 times the price of remington brass. Its suspost to be hand selected. Its also trimmed to short.

I'm having a hard time getting good brass.

KOna stinky,
It is normal to have dinged necks, there not ruined just run a mandral down the neck or resize them, that is standard procedure, also it won't hurt anything to have the brass trimmed a little short,it will strech especially in your factory savage chambers. I personally don't like Remington brass but I wouldn't worry about dings.
Wayne.
