True. I remember when Eddie Bauers sold real outdoor clothing and real expedition clothing(K2 line of goods). Now I see mostly imposter outdoor clothing and "hydration" bottles there. A few years ago Filson was purchased by Polo or Ralph Loren, they appear to be following in Bauers foot steps.
Then you must remember when Abercrombie and Fitch was a real outfitter/sports store, not just a kid/yuppie clothing store. Heck, Griffin & Howe occupied one of the floors in the Manhattan building they were in. That was a pitiful transition.
