I am new to the site, so I beg your pardon in advance if my "lingo" is lacking. I'm looking to build my first .308 F-Class/Varmint/Tactical rifle. I have an AICS chassis ready for this build. I also have glass. Preferences: 40X action-completely accurized and mated to a stainless bull barrel by Rock Creek/Lilja/Shilen. Barrel preference is open to gunsmith recommendation. I would like general advice on direction. i.e......gunsmith, parts, etc.....

Lose that idea. You'll be much wiser to buy a custom action in a Rem 700 clone. Much higher quality in terms of material and workmanship, and probably not much (if at all) more expensive.

Several superb choices available. I'd take any of them, every time, over an "accurized" 40x action.

Custom action. Have Gordy Gritters build it. He is really good. 28 inch cut rifled barrel kreiger brux bartlien. Jewel trigger and you will be set.
