Walked 50 yards and setup the BogPod with one looking at me at 65 yards. The Krieger 12tw chambered in 6X45AI and screwed on a Salvage Non-designated pushing a Sierra 80 grain BlitzKing at 3130 gave him one heck of a headache. A couple of minutes past and another at 185 poked out for a peak and the 12 ounce trigger made the standing shot rather easy. It started to spritz(light rain) as we say in Lancaster County so I walked for photos and got back to the truck. Two in as many minutes ain't bad.

Very nice you were able to get these two before the rain came. We had a lot of thunder and lightning over here in S/E York county late this afternoon but no rain.

MM, Thinking about putting a 6x45 on an AR. I like the velocities I see plus the many different bullet weights. What do you think about the 6x45? I know yours is an AI. Nice shooting by the way and don't mean to hijack your thread..

Good Shooting! I'm surprised you can kill ANYTHING in Lancaster county. The straw hats pretty much have killed off everything that can eat a crop. Hell, they come to Chester county for deer because there's nothing left where they live.

Sounds just like the straw hats we have around here.

Just for clarification....are you talking about the Amish? (Didn't know if you meant Amish...or hillbillies or other)

I have read other posts where a few trucks of Amish will pull up, unload a LOT of guys, and they'll kill/poach everything that moves. Then pile into their trunks and run off.

Do the Yoder Toters hunt as well?

This thread has been hijacked and I plead guilty. Back on topic, have killed around 50 so far in Chester county. Didn't get out much early, the hay went sky high fast due to all the rain and the litters have been all over the place. Farmers are saying the numbers are the highest they've ever seen. Oddly enough our gang whacked the hell out of them last year. Been filling in the holes, come back a week later and there's a fresh pile of dirt and a head sticking out.

I have a 5X45AI, 5.56X45AI and 6X45AI. You are correct, the 6mm has a wide choice of bullets. I went with a 12tw because even if you throated for the 105's I don't think you can stuff in enough powder to make it feasible. I would definitely recommend the straight in the AR platform and you will only lose 100 fps tops.

Also forgot to ask. What length of barrel would you go with?
This is a 28" but that would be a little unwieldy on an AR. I run 24" on my AR's but haven't done a 6X45 yet. I reached out to 5spd as he runs it straight and would be an excellent source. Hopefully he will chime in.

Fredo runs one too. I shot it. I was impressed. No recoil, lots of "ooomph" on the dead end, 75 grain Vmax flattens them.

But I am still in the 1980's and run those slow twist, light bullet fast 22's ...and if they would allow me I would still have a rotory phone with a mechanical bell.

You guys are making me sad that I missed the entire year. Maybe next year? Or time to sell the guns and build a car?

Headline: Snert goes Motorhead!

Never Sell The Guns... How does it perform on deer?

6x45AI, 80TTSX @2900 is a dandy little deer killer!
This is an exit, 80 yds...
