Quick Load Software

Can't answer those questions for you, but if you read this review, it will give you a better idea of the program's capabilities (and shortcomings):

I have a lesser program (Load from a Disk), and I find it indispensable - I run it 3 or 4 times a week.

I do "What if's", and use it to find cartridge potentials - and clean up myths of what a cartridge can do (and not do).

And Quick Load is on my Christmas list.

Absolutely agree it is worth the money. Just remember it is a guide and heed the warnings others posted here.
The biggest items for us:
- saves wear on barrel since I know what powders will NOT get close to what I want
- saves time not going down wrong path
- point you to a different powder you may not have thougt about.
We have about 40 different powders in the reloading room and have always used past experience to determine where to start on a new load or cartridge.
We have checked and it is surprising close to known results.
Quick Load has built in everything we learned in the last 45 years of reloading plus what we did not think about.
Even old farts benefit from this software.

One thing about it is that there is no provision to input any data relating to the primer at least on the early version I have. However if using a slow powder that might require a mag primer the output numbers still seem to stack up pretty well

It's also important not to accept the default values for things like seating depth and case volume but to actually measure them.

This is absolutely true. Entering these exact measurements makes a world of difference. If you live life on the reloading edge (max), it's a must do. I also love the program and what it can save you in the long run. There are updates to the data every so often that you need to call about to get at a small fee. At least I am not getting any notices when they are ready. Last update included 8202 and Trailboss powder among others that I was glad to get.

I've been curious about Quick Load myself. I have one question though. Can you mess with cases to form wildcats and will it predict pressures and ballpark velocities off of that? For instance, for sake of arguement I was to want to take the 7 rsaum and shorten it a little and put a 40 deg shoulder on it could I enter all of that and have it come up with some predictions?

You can to a limited extent. But, to obtain the best results from modeling new cartridge designs, you should use QuickDESIGN in conjunction with QuickLOAD.

I do not see the price for the quickload program. Just the prices for the upgrades. Any idea what the original program costs?

Note that I wrote "each". They are $149.95 individually and $299.90, together. If you want both, my advice is to call Neco and ask for a discount. The worst they can do is say "no".

I load for 60 different cartridges. I shoot something different every time I go to the range. I would pay 10 times the asking price for Quickload if I had to.

I like it that much.

But if you only handload 1 cartridges and you have not changed your one load in 10 years, you might not get as much good out of it.

Sorry, missed that part ;D
