Quick Load Expert

Are there any Quick Load vendors/dealers that will run data for you? Through my research of the program, it just seems alittle overwhelming and I'm afraid to spend the money for the full program and not even know how to use it. Just curious if anyway offers a service to run all the data (and tells you all the data you need) for you, to give you the optimal charge weight for a particular load.

Think of quick load as a series of reloading manuals combined with a calculation engine. The main app feature, plug in your caliper, powder and bullet, it provides you with a table of projected pressures and velocities. It is possible using the Optimal Barrel Time (OBT) method to guess at your optimal charge weight. However for safety you should take the max pressure and start a ladder 10% down.

Quick load can also be used to search for powders that match certain criteria. For example, if I have a Varget load worked up but can't get the powder, I can look for similar burn rate powders and might come back with something like VV N140 or 8202 XBR.

Quick load is not a substitute for reloading manuals and requires some base knowledge to use effectively, but it's a very powerful tool. As long as you understand what all the fields are (like cartridge length or case volume) then you should be fine. The true power comes in the fine tuning which you learn with time.
