Quick and elementary question about shooting IBS targets

I've been shooting IBS style targets for years when working up a load and/or sighting in. I have always used the box as my aiming point and want my bullets to impact either in the middle or above it, depending on what I am doing. It works for me and I see no reason to change. However, I'm curious about how these targets are supposed to be shot in competition. Are you supposed to use the box as the aiming point with impact in the bulls eye or use the bull as the aiming point with the bullets impacting in the box? Or does it matter and it is up to each shooter to choose either the box or the bull for the aiming point?

Obviously for someone not involved in benchrest competition I can shoot these targets however I want, but I'm just interested in knowing if there is a correct method. Thanks for any and all info!

There is no right or wrong method, it's just personal choice. What I do is place the horzontal crosshair at 6:00 on the mothball and the vertical crosshair at 3:00 on the mothball. I then click the turrets so the poi is about 10 or 11 on the mothball.
