the rifle only has the factory installed rear pillar...no front pillar has been installed. I took some brass that was laying around here and work and fashioned up some pillars....but am too apprehensive to install them. I guess if I decide to go ahead and get the barrel done....i'll have no qualms about messing up the factory stock if worse comes to worst!
And i agree about a single shot version....i never mag feed any rifle i have, other than my 223ai (sold) and rimfire (only semi-auto)...I was going to get a singe shot follower from calhoun or bobsled...but I want to get my bottom metal cut down and wasn't sure how either would look after the modifications.
Ultimately, i'm just tore as to what to do...the 527 is a fun rifle, and I love the 222......but there's just limited availability on parts for the rifle...and dumping a ton of money as opposed to just building a whole other rifle is the big question.
