Guys....I've been reloading a long time...since 1948 matter of fact and I've shot a ton of IMR 4895 which I have a good bit of. This powder was my favorite all the years I shot NRA Match Rifle in .308 Winchester for across the course shooting which I used at 200 and 300 yard courses of fire. My favorite powder for 6MM Dasher and 6.5 x 47 Lapua has been Varget but I was wondering if Varget becomes less apt for availability than at present I am wondering how 4895 would perform in the two calibers mentioned above. IMR 4895 on the burn rate chart is 12 numbers slower than Varget so possibly no danger in loading using commonsense and doing so in increments. Would appreciate a view or comment from you! NOTE: Excuse me fellows; I read the chart bassackwards! IMR 4895 is FASTER than Varget!
