imr 4895 in 6.5x284

Just bought a 6.6x284 and going to use 142smk.I have 8lb of 4895 and was wondering it it will work well.Seems that all the good powder is out of stock and I already have the 4895.I am going to shoot f/class with it. I also have 8lb of varget what about that also.

In my experience both powders are way to fast a burn rate for this caliber. You need something like H4831 to make this caliber shine. Good luck.

you can use it but velocity will be slow. The case will have a lot of space with 4895 and varget. The 4831's and 4350's are much better.
