Just curious what you guys think... I haven't kept up on SR BR like I should be
In IBS SR score the NF Comp 42 wins hands down. There are many more using that scope than the other 3. The March 48X is actually a 50x and I'm sure Lou can back up what I'm saying. March's old 50's got such bad ink that March didn't want to say that the new HM 48 was actually a 50. I agree about the Valdada's, nice scope, really super Schott German glass and 7 layer coating but IMO underpowered. I have 5 48'S and still use 3 of the old 50's and they do the job.Just curious what you guys think... I haven't kept up on SR BR like I should be
The 42 is actually heavier than the 15-55 as I'm sure you know. So why the 42? Inquiring minds want to know!In IBS SR score the NF Comp 42 wins hands down.

Exactly. Frankie the 21oz straight 42 COMP, not the 35+ ounce BENCHREST 12-42x56 boat anchor. They are talking about the straight 42 power NF Comp, not the variable 12-42x BR or NXS.
What makes you recommend those over the others? In short range group you’ll see a good bit of March, Valdada 36 and 40s, some NF 42s and a few Leupolds.
Personally I’d stick with a March or Valdada.

Because they hold point of aim. What makes you recommend those over the others?
Thats a nice quality for a scope to have. We all like pretty image quality bit it doesn’t mean much without tracking and holding point of aimBecause they hold point of aim.
