Question to the hardcore prairie dog hunters.

But I have no idea what the heck you are talkinig about, THERE ARE NO PD's LEFT IN NORDAKOTA. They all migrated west and south about 7 yrs ago when the patch boomed again.. They are extremely sensitive creatures unable to reproduce successfully with all that noise and traffic.. I was hitting on the road south of Bowman in 2009 and I recognized the colony from being much farther North.

Still some big towns on the Ft. Berthold rez

And your guns won't get hot as fast as July .

we will shoot well into late October.....days are usually much more pleasant...

p/dogs are slower coming out on a 40* morning....coyotes are always a bonus though....

but remember too....Eagles...Badgers...Weasels....all take their toll on p/dog patches too..

....well...it was in the low 80's in June and July, it was in the mid 90"s this trip!!

Coyotes!! The land owner was showing me a town with which I had never hunted.....we were in a pickup and he was on an ATV. We came around a corner and there was a big yote hanging around about 250 - 300 yards away. Of course, our guns were all nicely packed away!! Driving a bit further we came across a younger yote...just standing there...about 30 yards away. The landowners dog charged the yote and it simply froze. The landowner simply drove up to the yote and proceded to drive over it. He stuck his foot out and broke its neck. Says he does it often!! He said the last time he had coyote hunters on his land they (two of them) killed 17 in one day!! That was a couple of years ago!!
