Question regarding a custom action?

Yes, the cam angle is at the very bottom of the cut. There's no matching angle at the root of the handle...just a 90 degree corner. The RFD's use a similar arrangement except it hits the cam angle at the top of the receiver like the 700 Mike posted a pic of.

In this pic, the original handle is at the bottom and the new handle with a matching angle to the RFD receiver is at the top:

The new handle and matching cam angle. Lots of mechanical extraction:

All work done by the late Stan Ware following the infamous 'Red Hammer Incident' . o_O:oops::eek::cool:

The cocking cam helix looks very shallow. It can't have much pin fall, can it? unless it's just the picture.

Approximating measurements using the pictures the cocking cam depth is ~.216”. Allowing for clearance between cocking piece and bottom of cam in fired position max pin fall will be less than .216”.

Let’s see how close I am if we can get the OP to actually measure it :p

Wasn’t the Snake gun trials and tribulations written up in PS? Can’t recall if the hammer incident was included there or if that was on BRC :)
