Question on tight neck 308

I have an opportunity to buy a nicely set up rifle chambered in what I'm told is a tight neck 308. I don't have specific dimensions but I'm really not interested in dealing with processing the brass for that chamber. My question is can this be reamed out for a standard 308 chamber? Anyone gone down that path? Your ideas and recommendations would be appreciated.

Without having specific dimensions, it would be hard to say for sure, but yes, a neck reamer as well as a throating reamer can be run into an existing chamber to make it any size larger than what is there already.
Some may refer to a tight neck chamber as one that will accomodate factory unturned brass of a specific make yet have closer than factory SAAMI chamber dimensions.

Depends on how tight as to what you need to do.

My last barrel was cut with a .339 neck, it was great for shooting WW brass. With WW the loaded necks are .333 to .334. Lake City on the other hand might be a problem, the necks on loaded LC brass are at about .336 to .337, and that's a little tight for my taste. Lapua is about the same as LC.

So, it may depend on what you are shooting as to whether or not you need to do anything.
