Question on getting a very tall scope turret made

I think I might have ask this question a year or 2 ago or maybe on another website forum. But all I got was smart A** questions and answers and no real answers to my question. like I said it could have been another forum too. Anyway I want to have a custome made VERY VERY TALL turret for my scope. I use custom turret labels on my scope turrets and want a turret that is tall enough that I can put on a custom turret tape that shows all the moa numbers through let say 50 or the number 60. Every one wants to know why I want to do this , but no answers on how..... one I have very very bad eye sight ( detached retina last year and cannot see that well , 2nd gets harder for me to see and count revolutions on scope and remember were I am at on the turret ?
So I just want a label tall enough that can hold a label that has ALL my printed MOA numbers / marks on it or my yardage marks on it. Question do you know any one that can do this for me ( make a tall turret for my scope ) ? Would the option of stacking 2 turrets on top of each other ( lock tight them together ) be a wise move to give me more label space on turret ? Looking for ideas how to accomplish this .... not why I want to do this project. Thanks. Marty

Try contacting this company. They make custom turrets for various scopes. http://kentonindustries.com/

I have used Kenton scope turrets in past. Work very good but he does not make a turret for my scope , Weaver T36. Also Apears not a extra tall turret for snybrand. Only size he offers is his standard sizes that he has developed. . But I do want to thank you for your help sir. I wonder if I will have to try to stack 2 turrets together to make it tall enough for all my data hash marks. ? Marty

Ok. I have found the solution to my problem I think ha ha ha ha. I have sleved the original turret now with a plastic tube. So this sleeve fits/pressed in to top 1/4 of the original turret and appears to be very very tight and solid. Does not move. NOW MY QUESTION..... for you very smart scope guys is this....the sleved Turret ( 2nd tier turret ) that now sets on top of my original T36 Weaver turret is a little bigger diamaiter then the factory turret . I would say 25 % bigger around. So when I make a custom label MOA turret with standard numbers and standard hash marks and proper spacing this will give me a few more moa numbers with hash marks on the top sleved ( 2nd tiered turret ).
WILL THIS turret concept still work correct as long as moa spacing is correct ? There will be like 9 moa numbers and hash marks on original turret and then on top of the 2nd tier turret it looks like it will hold 12 or sold numbers and hash marks per Revuloution. I hope my question makes since here. Look forward to your help on this question not why do I want to do it. Thanks. Marty

The number of MOAs that are in a single revolution stays the same, irrespective of the diameter of the turret. You can have a turret that is a foot in diameter, you will still only have 9 MOAs per revolution. The number of MOAs per revolution is dictated by the pitch of the screw used to hold the erector tube in the main tube.

Having a larger diameter turret will allow you to write bigger numbers, but it will still be 9 MOAs.

I just realized you're talking about a Weaver T-36 here. I have two of those scopes; one mounted on my F-TR AR-15 rifle and another on my old .308 F-TR Ruger Ultramatch rifle. The Micro-Trac knobs on the Weaver are actually quite good and I remember vividly going between 300, 600 and 1000 on that scope with my AR. I got tired of trying to keep track on 9 MOA per revs and so one day, I grabbed a roll of the number labels I had for identifying cables (that was before WiFi,) and just cut a small 3 (300), 6 (600) and 0 (1000) and stuck them on the turret at the proper position for that distance. I did the same for the Ruger for the days when we shot 800, 900 and 1000, so 8, 9, and 0. I would place the numbers at different heights on the turret to remind me of the revolution number for that distance.
