Question for the switch barrel guys

Yep, scope has to come off. But I save so much time and money with a prefit taking the scope off is worth it. Even if I could leave the scope on I doubt poi would be the same. I going to try a 284 prefit this fall. Hopefully I'll become a Winner too. Mike

Not if you lock the nut. After the nut is locked you do not have to remove the scope.

If the scopes objective is too close to the barrel, the barrel nut will not allow enough clearance to pull out under the objective. The barrel channel in the stock would have to be much larger and deeper than necessary to make that happen.

My bad. There is that!!! That is why I went to 1.25" barrel channels.
