Question about case deformation

Ill preface this by saying Im new to reloading, in fact Im still waiting on equipment. I have been doing a couple months worth of research in preparation though and had a question about some range brass I picked up. This is Norma brass for 270win. Were these deformations from a bad die, or maybe a weird chamber in someones rifle? It doesnt look like it from the picture but the deformations are pretty much identical. Just curious what may cause this?

While many of us have used range brass to varying degrees of success, as a new reloader, if possible, I would urge you to begin your reloading hobby with virgin cases.

As you become experienced in the reloading process you may want to salvage range brass for economic / supply reasons. If you do not to have to salvage range brass for the aforementioned reasons, it is best avoided.

There really is not enough information to go on. Do you know if these are once fired cases, new cases? What rifle was it shot from? Factory or re-barreled?

Reloaded with unintended crimp, shoulder was caved in a bit. But still chambered so the person fired them to see if the brass would form again? Saw the deformity and pitched them.
