Quality brass options growing

Thanks to this forum and information on 6mmbr.com my knowledge of things I dont know about keeps growing. I really enjoy the data tables in the 223 and 308 sections that have solid comparisons between the manufacturers. I had settled on lapua as the holy grail of quality brass because in both sections the are the most consistent and well liked. Now just recently I run across Peterson and alpha. The Peterson gives added options of primer sizes something I had never even considered. Is there real value in messing with a non standard primer early into reloading? Seems like an advanced option for those looking for that last tweak. Is there any test data to compare lapua to these American companies.
