Qs Re Short Action 700 and 6.5X284

Ok I have figured out the majority of the 140/142 bullets will probably be seated out so they will not feed from the mag. Not a real problem. Will these long rounds extract and eject on a stock short action? Not sure if I want to build if a live round will not eject. I don't mind the single feeding.

The other option is a 6BR or 6XC. Leaning toward the XC if I go 6mm direction.

The gun is going to be used for 1K paper punching.

I would go 22 dasher or another 22 cal, but I am afraid of the wind beating up the 80gr mk's. Any options I am overlooking?

Also considdering a 260 or other 6.5's that are a little more barrel friendly.

SA will eject a loaded round, though Rem's extractor sometimes has a hiccup with the rebated head and hangs onto the case.

you will most likely have to modify the bolt stop a bit to allow the bolt to come further rearward,10 minutes with a dremel)
