Pure accuracy…. 6br vs 6dasher vs 6GT

I’ve got the itch to build a target rifle in hunting rifle form. A hunting rifle to shoot small groups first, take game as a secondary purpose. With velocity as a secondary concern which cartridge is considered most accurate/easy to load, or is it a wash?

A 6br is the easy button.
I have never had a GT, so weigh my opinion with that in mind.

I have 6BR's, BRA's, and Dashers. All three will shoot well enough to make a grown man giggle like a school girl. With "factory" brass available in all three, that should not be an issue.
Lapua sells loaded 6BR ammo that is crazy accurate, if that is a consideration.
I am not sure any critter you would shoot with any of them would know the difference. Having said that, the dasher would likely get you more explosions with rock chuck sized varmints.

I'm putting a 6GT together now. Maybe little more velocity and easy to reload , use a standard magazine and maybe a little more versatile. Uses the same shell holders and powder I already have. Lapua makes brass. I have all the mics and gauges and seating and reloading dies that are easy to find for the 6GT. But which ever one floats your boat.

Plan to build on a Sako 90 action. Already made some 6BR dummies to check function. They run great from the 5 round double stack short action mag. Im assuming the dasher would feed also if the BR does. Also going to order a 22-250 magazine that has a spacer for the shorter COAL, guessing that wouldn’t hurt. I want to build a dasher but would go BR if it offers any meaningful accuracy advantage. I’d like to run Varget and 95-108 projectiles.

Out of what you mentioned, any will do the job. The GT and Dasher will give you a little more stopping power at reasonable distances, but not by much. They are all extremely accurate cartridges, but of the three you mentioned, id go with a 6BR, its just so darn easy to tune. As Bill and Jeff mentioned though I think the 6brx is a great option as well.

Deer/varmints out to 500. I’d be pretty happy to shoot 10 shots into a 1” circle at 100 yards. Steel targets out to 900. Pretty sure the dasher is what I want, especially with lapua about to drop brass.
A few years ago a guy we know came out to shoot with us at 1000 yards with his 6mm dasher. He took us to school. We had no idea what that little cartridge could do. We where shooting a 6.5 Creedmoor and a BR 30-06. We held our own but he could fire off rounds faster and take advantage of lulls in the wind and was much more consistent. We learned our lesson.

Depends on the distance and type of shooting. Having shot BR for couple of years I would go with a GT due to magazine feeding issues with BR. You get more speed, great barrel life and most importantly factory Lapua brass (!).
With GT onboard cartridges like dasher and BR wildcats like BRA do not make much sense to me anymore (because I am lazy and I don’ t want to fireform).
