Pulled the trigger on a new 6xc CBI barrel yesterday, 7 twist. Anyone shooting this twist with 105, 108 grs and if so what is your best load data.

I have ordered a new CBI 26" Varmint taper 7 twist. I ordered a new barrel for myself yesterday since I opened my mouth and sold my 8 twist Savage 110 build 6xc. It will be put on a Savage 110 or Axis Precision, both with actions trued up on the face of the receiver. I have several 105-108 gr bullets of all makes, and would prefer to focus on them, also have about 300 115 grs, that shot great with D Tubbs loads of H4350 or Varget, and I know they should shoot good in this 7 twist, since they shot great in the 7.5 twist I put together for other folks. I have a large selection of powders, Rel, 15, 17 19, H 4350, Varget, H 335, H4895, Imr 4350, H4831, IMR 3031, BlC-2. All data with the 105, 107, 108 gr bullets would be appreciated with any of these powders. I have also had great luck with Rel 15 in this caliber in the past.

Is the cbi barrel a 4 land or a 5R? Twist rates like 7 with high speed can cause jacket failure at max pressures.

I have loved the 105-108 grain bullets under H4350. 38-40.5 grains is my recommendation.

115 DTACS work well with 37-39g H4350 too.

Been working on a powder replacement similar to H4350 but at a better price point as 60/lb is getting steep.

Mine is a 1-7/5 twist, the H4350 never preformed as others reported for me. I used IMR4831 & RL19 with good results but also tried VihtaVuori N-160 with very good results with 107gr Seirra MK, 105gr Lapua, Berger hybrid 105gr and Berger 108gr Elite hunters. Of the bullets listed the Sierra 107gr & Lapua 105gr shot the best but the gap is small between all of these bullets. Again my 6xc shoots a lot of different powders good, but the N-160 shot the best.

My 6XC 26” 6 grove 7.5 twist installed on an AI AE MK III action and chassis. With 17 HV barrel profile, loading with RL17 and Berger 105, 107, 108. It a rock solid out to 1050yds. The 108 Bergers showed great potential.

I built a 7 twist 4 groove Mullerworks to shoot the hornady tap bullets they were giving away and be able to use srp in the process as I have a zillion of them.

Mine shoots 39.5grs of h4350 into the .4's more often than not at 3050fps from a 26" tube.

I've never tried anything else.

If you got this from NSS, what is their current lead time? I'm considering ordering a barrel this week from them.
