pulled bullets

does anyone have any ideas on how to fix pulled bullets for out of round. they are jacketed 55 grain 223s. is there a way to resize them.

tick,
Good 55 gr bullets only cost between $15 - $19 per 100 new. Throw those "out of round" bullets away. They aren't worth the problems they could cause if they're messed up.

I would buy a lee .22 caliber lead sizing die and puish them through and voila they are usable again for plinking. If they are out of round by say a thousandths, just use them for plinking and if you dont want them, send them to me.

Back years ago Rick Jamison did a test by pulling bullets with pliers and reusing them, his test showed no problems and accuarcy was the same at 100yards as new bullets, Go figure, that was in a Shooting Times article. ed

There was a lot of stuff those guys from the old days did that have become some kind of magic to today's shooting public.

I use a Forster bullet puller with no problem in re using them. But military bullets in particular are tough to pull, and I need to clamp down hard on them, leaving dents on the bearing surfaces. As long as the base is not damaged, they will shoot fine, but I would not use them in a match.

Hey Guys,
I've got no problems in pulling bullets and reusing them, so long as they are ok. I do it all the time using a Hornady Bullet Puller. But the post says those bullet Tick pulled were "out of round" and he ask if theres a way to "fix" that condition.

Use your bullet seater and push then down about 1/16 inch. Milsurp ammo has the necks sealed. By pushing them down a hair, you should find them easier to pull without denting them.
I use one of the hammer type pullers and those do the least amount of damage.

they will roll but they are out a little i think i will order a lee sizing die in .244 and try that. I got 5000 but they are not all out but there's enough to do that.

where is the problen?
no matter how bad they are if you can seat them and chamber them don't you think going through your barrel will do the same thing as a bullet sizer will?

I loaded up 50 they shot ok.I still went ahead and ordered the sizer some of them were out bad. sizer worked great. Thanks for the help.
