PTG Weatherby 307 actions

I just received a 307 action from PTG. The one I received has a .250 stainless lug. It does not match Weatherby’s published .899 +/- 0 spec. I called Weatherby and they said they use 6 different recoil lugs .187ish to nail headspace. I also talked to PTG and they said some actions from Weatherby were from military orders with other specs. So a nut barrel or a barrel headspaced on the lathe would be wise if you order one from PTG.

At $525 with a 0 MOA rail it’s just ok. Cerokote was sprayed in the barrel threads, the bolt head face was cerokoted but cleaned up. Bolt seemed loose but smooth enough for a cerokoted bolt in a cerokoted action. The rem X-mark pro could be tuned to a grungy 4lb min so it is a throw away. $775 for a Macbros is worth the difference unless you just want a budget action. I put a nut barrel on it and will shoot it in the next day or two.
