Personally, I am not a fan of the Gunworks actions. We had a few of them come through the shop and the QC on those ones were pretty off. Things we don't like
Face and head space was consistent, as mentioned. For the price point they are nice, but I do feel for 2-300 more dollars you can get a better product. If you are limited to sub 1000 the Gworks is a good option. Just understand it's not perfect.
- Huge .300 recoil lug. The bigger the lug the more apt it is to act as a pivot point, regardless of how true it is. Recoil Lugs were also up to .0015 off square.
- Taper in the threads. This happens to many manufacturer's but still needs to be corrected.
- Rough finish. If you're going to spray it or have it coated in any way, its fine. If you want to polish one - it takes A WHILE!
