I am using a PTG bullet comparator nut with a Hornady OAL gauge, my results are not consistent readings for OAL. So I notice that the comparator nut only contacts the bullet on the very edge of where the bullet enters it. It leaves a ring mark around the bullet as proof. I thought that the contact should have been through the walls of the nut not just the edge or is this because of bullet shapes impossible? Is the nut use wrong altogether with the OAL gauge? Should I have bought the Hornady kit instead of the PTG nut?
