another thing the reason we have been charging up front when the FFL paperwork is sent is only because I am using the funds to help Pay for the Receivers and assure that each Action is Sold before I put it in line in my Grind Shop to match the correct bolt to the Receiver . Before if I took a order to Grind Bolts to put with a Receiver we would call and the Customer would change there mind or the Type of Bolt face and it would screw up our production line count on correct Bolt Faces, if that makes any sense . A few Years ago if you investigate it a Blueprinted Remington Receiver with our Precision ground one piece Remington Blots kicked ass and Won about everything at the Super Shoot per one of the officials . Hell there are 7 Action Manufacturers selling units today that have our Bolts in them that are a little different looking as far as cam and handle but have the same One piece Bolt that these Remington's have . The only difference is we true and Ream the sloppy .703 Raceway to clean up at either .705, .708 or .710 for customers and install a Bolt that is precision ground to .001 to .002 smaller than the true, reamed raceway with the face of the internal Lug to the outside face toward the recoil Lug within in .0002 to .0003 in line withe the parallel Bolt and Raceway and we hold all this to the .002 over the mean of the Machinist Hand Book thread Chart with the thread root radius lined up and cut within the raceway to within .0003 . My Gosh I have seen $1,000 dollar Actions Sloppier than that . But maybe $380.00 is just not enough for Some people to pay for a entry level Competition Action . Well to each there own, got to rush . Remember JRS is a great Competitor and he needs to have a structurally Stronger Receiver to take Vibrations out of the factor . The only thing I cant do is Take the Vibration and flex out off the Remington's large Ejection Port . So there is merit to smaller hi-dollar Actions with the correct Ejection port size . Dave, I have seen nothing to make me believe action rigidity has a part in accuracy. I cut drop ports in all kinds of stuff and they keep performing, dual ports are holding all the records. Hell we bolt them to wood, the action is not the weak link. I prefer single shots just because I always single load even when hunting, and they feed smoother. Glad they sold well.

I am happy with my two. I paid for the fluting and would like to get a few more. One is now a 6x47 lapua improved. The other is 22-250 for now it has a few more rounds left on it maybe a last dog trip before I chamber a second rifle to 22br.

Alex I hear you and you are right . Am I to tell half my customers that my $380.00 large ejection port Action is as good as there $1,250 Action with the smaller ejection port when the Customer is always Right ? That would be like me telling them the last four world records of major notice and last Two Chamber Prints excepted by SAAMI have been my Borerider design and they should try it, when they are ordering the reamer like the guy on the internet said to get because they have Won everything under the son except the match . I learned long ago, Listen to the Customer try to help them as much as I can . I sometimes I can talk them into what they really need but then again sometimes I cant talk them out of purchasing a Action, Bolt or Chamber Reamer some two bit shooter on the form tells them to get . If i try too hard to give them what they need then I would hear Shit about that on the form, it either took to long to get or they didn't get the same results like To bit's did . Alex you and I can please most of the people most of the time, HELL even interject the facts and help them a lot of the time but we can't please some of them some of the time . I only true the Remington Thread to a 2 Class or class 3 JVTR-NAS891 larger Aerospace Root Radius true within .0002 on the Root, the Tips of the threads may flair a bit because we bring them back to center-line even if they are warped new from the Factory . These threads are perfect to use as the Vehicle to tighten a barrel, Lug to Receiver as any . Don't let all the Smoke and mirror guys that rack up a bunch of money Scaring and Bullshiting there way into your Wallet by scaring a person about Threads , Hell there are more worries about building a Rifle or truing a Action than a couple thousands of tooth height on factory threads Especial when the root is trued with a Aerospace root Radius . I see these Specialty Bolt fixin folks make money by taking a Remington Bolt and Sleaving it, Putting in a smaller Firing Pin hole and moving the ejector hole and installing a Sako Extractor Then fluting the bolt and writing up the ticket for more than one of our $380.00 dollar Actions with a PTG One Piece bolt with that and More already precision machined before its Heat Treated and Then we Precision CNC Grind to .0002 to .0003 total concentric Tolerance inline to Parallel with a .001 Bolt to Inline Blue printed tolerance . Hell our Actions are so Tight that some Newbies get them and say there a little tight but they need to cycle it after the Rifle is assembled to realize what close fit is all about and why we do it . Now I will say for Sniper and Heavy coated Finishes you need .002 to .0025 to have clearance after any special processes . Well anyway I just got a shipment of 2,000 actions and Barrels Actions in and the Sales will be back and popping eyes again . I got a 1 piece bolt from you Dave (PTG) and ordered it .001" less than raceway. I had it large spiral flute ground and I have to say that it was dead on measurements of what I ordered and I could not measure any discrepancies on lugs, bolt face or bolt nose. It is as good or better than any custom I've measured.
Just thought I'd give some credit where due. I had a couple reamers in past that weren't to specs on print, but I recently got a reamer from you also and I have to say that it was dead on specs, better than I could measure with my equipment. I'm glad you are turning out high precision products to spec again.

I'm saying these actions will work with any Remington 700 Thread, We have a few custom Actions that we offer that have other types of threads . This was dealing with the Remington Actions in Single Shot and the Repeaters that Alex and I have been typing back and forth about on a couple threads, The new Action offerings we will have this fall can be ordered with any Thread size Inch or Metric, Standard or oversize . We are machining some and Remington is going to start supplying some inexpensive Receivers that we will finish the ID raceway and Thread per customer request for about $400 bucks and that's as about dense as it gets, order it any way you want for any setup, I will defiantly keep you posted , have a wonderful night .
