PT&G, M16 Extractor Jig?

Why in the world do you need to do all of the stoning? I can see now and then after a bunch of use and tool/fixture changing but every time you move a vise?

It looks to me like they are the same jigs except one is a kit that comes with everything you need. PTG has old ads up a lot of the time. Don't expect the "Ditzy Chicks" In the front office to give you the right stuff, My orders have been screwed up several times, They don't have any idea what the stuff is or what it does so they grab something off the shelf that's wrong. The last time was a range rod I ordered for a .32 caliber rifle .321 diameter, They sent me .32 caliber pistol rod .310 diameter. You are given a choice with a drop down box, And I chose rifle, They sent me the wrong one. This has happened with other range rods and headspace gauges, 7 mos to get a reamer, The girls in the office are quite rude also. Anyway good luck.

I hope you don't order the one with everything and they send you the one with nothing but the jig.
Exactly my experience with PTG. The people you speak to on the phone don't know their @$$ from a hole in the ground about their product. Even when I have thought everything was how I wanted it, something else showed up.

My conclusion is that PTG doesn't care about small QTYs, they're too busy selling parts.

PT&G has me waiting 3 Months on a Savage .7000 od bolt , if I could have found one I would not have ordered one !!! And they will make me wait 3 months even if they didn't have work !!

And there's the kicker...I don't think the lack of attention to small people like us is by accident, I really believe PTG is selling so much product they just can't get to it as they are cranking out product as fast as they can.

The last bolt I ordered from them was not what I asked for, they didn't even notify me before shipping it, and yes they took 3-4 months as you note. In the time it took them to make the bolt for me, I found a bolt that I wanted from a friend and now have a magnum short action bolt to use on a bolt action.

I was pretty p!$$ed and vowed to never order another item from them, but don't need anything else. I have 3 of their bolts. Having a magnum bolt face short action is not the end of the world, I'm looking forward to building a rifle with it now. I've heard good stuff about Manson, may try them for the 4th bolt, but I have plenty of rifle work to do between now and then.

I don't know the full story at PTG obviously, but they've been around for years and supply Government contracts of some type, so they seem busy.

The bottom line is that there's not a lot of people that will make custom bolts for you.;)

I do not believe Manson makes any bolts. They never have before. Unless it’s something new that I don’t know about?
So is there anyone that makes bolts besides PTG ??? Sounds like they have us by the shorts ones...:(

EDIT: damn, you're right...no bolts only reamers and gauges...:( Is there any alternative at all to PTG?

Midway is only slightly 'smarter' than those on the phone at PT&G. No mention of bolt diameter and they can not tell you, they don't know....... other than it fits a Rem 700.
I have never spoken to anyone at Midway, even though I've been buying from them for years. I always just figure the people that answer the phone don't know d!@$.

Right as the shortage mess started I backordered 500 140 grain ballistic tips. At the time you couldn’t backorder everything but these you could. I figured I’d get them eventually so why not. Fast forward 6 months…they canceled my backorder and guess what showed up in stock a week later with a 100ct max?

Screw Midway…they used to be the first place I looked, Larry gets out of the day-to-day and now they are the last place, if I even look at all.

These shortages have shown us who really cares about the shooters/reloaders if we pay attention.

I'm not going to judge anyone for manufacturing delays during the shutdowns. No one knew what was going to happen.
