Protektor custom bumble bee dr rear bag

a front rest manufacturer has recommended to me the above rear rest. what are your experiences? for a "light gun" rear rest, is it stable and in place after a shot? does the BR rifle slide easily? does it stay vertical and not round out or collapse?

That is what I use...and the originators to boot (original shooting sandbag makers). Have used others and still go back to Protektor. Give David a call, he'll take care of you.

I prefer Edgewood's bags but you would not go wrong with a Protektor. Their model that I like is the 14B.5CDSDBB, Deluxe Cordura Mid-Ear Rear Bag (Two Stitch). My current rear is the Edgewood Minigater with the "Shehane" stitch. As gunamonth said, fill it with heavy sand and you will have no problems. My front Edgewood bag has crushed walnut shells in the Farley rest.

Ive just bought the DR bag and though it looks good, it isnt as I expected. I was after a bag which is parrelel on top, not sloping to suit short range BR stocks. It isnt on as much of an angle as other bags out there so, I will stick with it.

They make it either way. I ordered mine with level sides on the base, not sloping, and 3/4" spacing on the medium height ears. Perfect for a ST-1000.

all you have to do is call Protecktor and tell them what you want, and they will do it. I ordered my big DR bag and asked for 3 stitches in between ears, a flat top, and an extra 1/2" on the base. It's a tall bag, but that's what I wanted since I use a caldwell base with a customized windage top, and it sits much higher than most front rests.
