Protector Front & Rear Rest Sets?

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been shooting precision benchrest at my local indoor club using a modified Caldwell Lead Sled 2. (Don’t laugh it worked LOL) I do add 20lbs of weight in the frame for added stability. I know it’s not the best but it worked for me to see if I wanted to move forward with a better rest. I’m limited on funds so I’d like your thoughts on the Protector front and rear rest combo sets. Here is the link to the one I’m looking at: https://protektormodel.com/collections/complete-rest-sets/products/aluminum-rest-set-with-1f-13bf-60
Any info on these would be helpful.

Just for your info I’ve attached a couple of pix of what I made out of the old Lead Sled. I’m a retired tool and die maker and while I have a couple of lathes, I do not have any Bridgeports anymore otherwise I’d just make one for myself.

My other thought is if I got the Protector set and I wasn’t happy with it I could possibly modify it myself.

Anyway thanks in advance for your thoughts and information!
