Just think about the questions they ask on the 4473.
You are not allowed to purchase a firearm if:
You are not the actual buyer of the firearm (in other words, if you are a straw purchaser)
You have been convicted of, or indicted for, a felony or any crime punishable by more than a year in jail.
You are a fugitive from justice.
You use illegal drugs.
You have been adjudicated mentally defective, or you have ever been committed to a mental institution.
You are dishonorably discharged from the military.
You are subject to a court order restraining you from harassing, stalking or threatening your child or an intimate partner or child of such partner.
You have ever been convicted in any court of a
misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
You have ever renounced your U.S. citizenship.
You are an alien illegally in the United States.
You are an alien admitted to the United States under a non-immigrant visa.
