Proper neck clearance

I ran my .330 chambers at .3295. I ran my .334 chambers at .3335. After a few years and many thousands of rounds I finally had an issue with running them that tight and now run .332 in my .334 chambers. I have had zero problems since.

I am not saying I'm right.....I'm not saying I'm wrong....just saying I'm different. But then again, we all knew that already, didn't we??

Old thread (2011) but will chime in also: have tested clearance a couple times in life and seen no accuracy gains either way. From which myself use +.003" to illuminate some risks. Matt Klein (@dkhunt14) who is very successful in 1000-BR with 300-WSM's, I believe runs +.003" as well.

I also run .004” clearance in my 300WM for 1000metre F-Class Open.
I once used tight clearance of .0015” which gave me pressure spikes on some test strings.
I also run tight and loose neck clearance depending on which barrel I’m using.

Cheers.
