After the mud and snow (and hunters) of last weeks opening, Mama and I explored out east, west of the Powder.
The land has dried up nicely and was devoid of hunters, of which I prefer.
As this was more of a leisurely meat hunt (we have 20-some Pronghorn mounts) we wanted to see some country, take a few hikes and harvest some game if possible. After our noon meal I made a chip shot on a young buck out of a small bachelor group. Later in different area Mama made a nice shot after a nice crawl in stalk.
Mama used her tried and true Weatherby .240 ULW with 95gr Bergers and I, a Weatherby Mark V 6-lug in 6.5x284 with 140gr Bergers
