Some Adventures

Some of the wildlife I’ve shot with a camera. I like to use a camera for a number of reasons, I can hunt all year and it’s legal to have a dog on a leash.

I haven’t put much money in cameras as the passion for me is the stalk. To remain undetected. Pretty much everywhere I go is no vehicle or ATV access so I never see anyone. I rotate between three different dogs, two which are natural born hunters. Masters of silence, the wind and the ambush. They have taught me more than the military could ever hope to do. Number three is a working line GSD that lives and breathes to find game. Sometimes I go alone with a hog spear.

The turkeys were spotted from a hill right at 900 meters away. We made the stalk keeping woods between us and the crazy thing was the Jake walked right up to us. He looked to be trying to figure what Bedford was who was perfectly still and drooling from the mouth at the thought of a meal 7 feet away. These are hunted turkeys and have busted me at 600 yards before.

The hog on the ridge passed by us at 15 yards away. We had just stopped to eat when Bedford alerted something was coming downwind. When I saw the hair on his back go up I knew it was hogs. We got behind a blow over and I got one picture. I was alone walking a high spot in the swamp when I smelled hogs. This one came 3 steps from me and I barely had the wind. The biggest hog I’ve seen was about 50 yards away with a good size tree in it's jaws.I’m in some green bushes thinking it’s time to get out of dodge unseen. DSCF4135 (2).JPG

I give a lot of credit to the dogs. This guy was still and watching me and I probably wouldn't of known if not for the dog. I cropped the pic because the original is entered in a contest. I saw him again last week running a scrape line.whitetail_deer (3).jpg

Does the Large wild Boar have a Tag in its Ear??

I can't figure out what that is. At first I thought it was a leaf falling but I don't think so.
Some Hunters catch small Boars, Castrate them, then turn them Loose. They will grow HUGE! Looks like someone Ear-Tagged that Big Boy.!
