Prone shooting glasses recommendation (no RX required)

Building on what Kymike said about their customer service when I ordered my newest pair of Decot's I told him I wanted the lenses that were optically the clearest. Was expecting him to tell me its their most expensive lens. I was shocked when he said oh you just want our basic plastic lens (i.e. the cheapest) as that is the most clear. I was dumbfounded.

Radians clay pro glasses are decent and inexpensive… they have no frame and are high enough to not obscure the sight picture when prone. However, I’ve become accustomed to wearing my reading (bifocals) glasses… they are small enough to see over the top when prone, but I can see things up close when needed. Probably not the best for protection… so, I can’t recommend the practical for others.

Back when I was much younger and shooting registered skeet, I used non-Rx Decot Hi-Wyd glasses. They worked great until someone lifted them from my shooting bag at a shoot...

Because my needs and Rx has changed since them, I contacted Decot with my Rx and spoke to their technician about my shooting vision needs. Decot lenses pop on and off easily and I wanted a normal vision set for shooting clays and then a single lens for my right iron sight aiming eye. They sent me a set of lenses with various diopter levels to try based on the distance from my eye to the front sight. I picked the one that made the front sight very sharp.

The caveat is that the aiming black at 1000 yds was very blurry, but I shot well, proof that the target need not be sharp to shoot accurately. This worked as well as providing me lenses that would protect my eyes in the event of a mishap.

Nearly all ranges require eye and ear protection, and for a good reason.

Safety aside, it's better to show up with a nice pair of shooting glasses, then to end up having to shoot with a pair of sunglasses that you end up looking over the top of the lens.
Used to do this. But RO caught me and said do it right or not at all.
