Profiling barrel

Hi all

Wondering what your thoughts are on re profiling a cut rifled barrel before it gets chambered. I have access to a hv profile that is 1.25” diameter on the chamber end, but requires turning to 1.13” to fit to my action. Obviously it will only be the chamber end that sees re profiling.

Cheers

Not going to affect anything.

Thanks guys. It’s a tikka t3 action. I have a 1.130” straight profile barrel on order currently but things are taking a while to get it to Aus. In the mean time I could use a HV contour that is already here.

I do this all the time for Tikka's and they shoot under 1/2 moa, i.e., no neg effect. None of the benchrest guys I work with shoot Tikka so keep that in mind. --jerry
