"Professional Stockmaking"

The book, "Professional Stockmaking" written by Dave Wesbrook, has been reprinted this year. Available from amazon.com for about $50 (original '94 publications run into the hundreds, when you can find them!). This a good detailed read for those interested in rifle stock making. Lots of good detailed photos with explanations. Explains the process using a pre-inletted stock and from a blank. Remember to use the link to amazon, here on accurateshooter, to help boost the site! (several threads have been started asking about stockmaking info, this is an excellent reference on the subject)

I found that title on Amazon but encountered trouble trying to locate it thru the link here.

It's not listed among the titles on the Amazon.com/accuratescom-20 website, where my browser is directed by the link on the AS home page.

Doing a search on that site keeps asking me to "select a category" but the choices - Shooting Gear, Cameras & Camcorders, Watches - are pretty limited & don't really have anything to do with stockmaking.

Any thoughts? Do you have a direct link to this title on the AccurateShooter Amazon store?

Try the link at the top of the page , here on the forum. The link is between "Accurate Shooter Book Store" and "Brownells". Then, just enter the title.

Yep, that works! Thanks! I'd tried the Amazon link on the home page & got nowhere.

I was thinking about making a stock for an action I have a few weeks back. Then I got wind of a Sitman-stocked rifle with the same action. I took the easy path to satisfy my urge. ::)

Ya', alot quicker than "Wesbrooks' Way". I can, easily, tie-up 75-100hrs starting from a blank, a third of that using a good pre-inlet. No doubt about it, though, no two "hand mades" are identical (no matter how hard I try!). His book gives some of the best instruction I've seen outside of a class room.

If memory serves, seems I paid 1/10th of that in '94, when I bought mine. I'd say that amount of appreciation in 13-14 years says something about the book, it's self. I just happened to spot these while I was 'crusin' Amazon and thought others might be interested.
