Problems with receiving shipments???

Just curious if I have bad luck, or the Covid shortage of employees is really that bad..I've ordered numerous items from all of the regular companies that we all deal with , Midway, Brownells, Graf and Sons, etc. And it seems that if a package is going to get lost or "rescheduled" its mine!!! I ordered primers twice and they were shipped by one of the big 2 package companies. My e mail showed Fri the 19th, and as I was out of town on Thursday, of course I came home to a "we are sorry we missed you" notice. On Friday I did recieve one of the 2 pkgs , and the guy tells me" we'll deliver the second one on Saturday "" it's probably on a cart at the depot. I even got a call at 8:30 pm from a lady making sure I would be available on Saturday to sign for the pkg. So, I've sat here all day waiting on the lead tex truck, and no show. Their tracking shows " out for delivery " between 8:10am and 12:55 Pm. Don't figure I'll see it today, or maybe ever, and as hard as these little round things are to get, it kinda pi#$@s me off. Ive had shipments go to the wrong address (im in a city), get lost in transit, and just disappear !!! I can get reimbursed for the items, but when the items are unicorn tears, there hard to replace. Anyway, rant is over, but curious if I'm cursed or is this a common thing? I'm older, and can't understand how companies can keep functioning like this, and stay in buisness? rsbhunter

Only problem that I've had are 2 packages mailed to NZ the first of Sept. One came back to me a couple weeks ago from the post office in an envelope that they supplied with no reason for the return. I've tracked the other constantly from the first of Oct. Last week I had notification that it left Chicago the 16th of Nov, the next day it left Chicago again, and the 19th it left again. I guess my friend may get it before Christmas. Tracking doesn't go beyond the USA.
All other things that I've shipped in the CONUS or received have made it pretty much on time. I usually ship daily.
Oh, I forgot. I mailed a phone bill the first of Oct. and I received a torn up check and envelope last week in an envelope from the USPS. I was lucky that I had a credit balance and wasn't behind.

I have ordered a few things in the last month and have been worried a bit about the delivery. So far, everything has showed up on time or ahead of schedule.
As stated by Butch, bills in an envelope are a different matter.

Ordered a New Riding Mower in April, paid for it "in advance". Couple of days later, was told there would be delays. No problem on my end. Was told there were delays a couple of more times. Was also told (after a couple of face to face conversations) that I could have a refund. So, if I got the refund, I still have to wait??
Last face to face, saw a mower in the store, "who does that one belong to"? The store!
You want that one? YOU BET!! Only took 5 months and didn't have to worry anymore about NOT getting my mower.
Probably Covid related. Plants shut down, folks getting more $$$ staying home then if they were working? Can't build mowers if you don't have the pieces needed.

Only had a delivery issue once, ups left a sorry we missed you a second time. Only problem, there never was a first miss note, and someone is always here. Short time later I was working in the garage(cleaning a rifle) heard the ups truck stop. I opened the garage door, driver was passing by on the walk. Saw my setup and the Trump sign. No delivery issues since, but I did listen to him about Trump screwed in the election.

No you're not the only one. It happens all the time these days. Do a search here and you should find over a dozen complaining threads about all the delivery services.

This is just one line in one sorting facility for FEDEX. They run this volume 24/7, 52 weeks a year. They are as understaffed as every other business in the U.S. The replacement staff are rarely as trained as those they replace so it's should not surprise anyone that shipping is having problems. The facility itself is incredible in efficiency but leave out 1/3 of the workforce and lots of stuff happens even to 'unicorn tears'!

Good Luck!

I've had some fairly pricey items (to me), just left on the porch steps.
And i live in town!
I'd rather have to go to the terminal to pick up.
Beats being dropped off and someone making off with it!

Actually, do give me your address for the next time you order primers and i'll sign for it! ;)

Well now that I saw the picture, and you pointed out it was there, I can breath easy!!! Believe it or not, it was delivered this AM!!!!!! (Sunday) . The rant did help me let go of the frustration.... I know shoot happens, but there are days that I believe that if I bought a pumpkin farm, they'd outlaw Halloween!!!!! Thanks guys, you're the reason I stay with this forum...rsbhunter
