Problems with Nosler Brass

Last week I loaded some 300 Win Mag from Nosler Brass that I bought from MidwayUSA three weeks ago. I found 6% of the brass to be out of SAAMI Spec. I in other words the length of the case from the case head to the shoulder was .007" to long. It of course will not allow the rifle to go into battery. Since this is suppose to be premium brass and cost a premium price, I sent Nosler a nice e-mail. They sent me a lame reply, "stating they knew they had a problem and were working on it". I just thought i would share this with you so you might not make the same mistake that I made in thinking Nosler was selling premium brass. At least Winchester, Federal, Lapua, and Remington try to make good when their product is faulty. Just another reason for me to shoot Berger, Swift, Sierra Bullets and stay out of Bob Noslers booth at the Shot Show.

I bought some Nosler 204 brass a while back and have been very happy with it. Every company has "less than perfect" products slip out the door on occasion. How they deal with those situations and how they ultimately take care of the shortchanged customer is what shows the true colors of the company.

That being said, the brush off reply you got from Nosler is totally unacceptable. A sincere apology and a free replacement of the junk with quality brass should have been in order. Keep us posted on whether they take care of you or not.

Thought I would also share MidwayUSAs' response:

Subject: Nosler 300 Winchester Magnum Brass

Recently I bought some Nosler 300 Winchester brass from MidwayUSA. I
found 6% were out of SAAMI spec by .007",too long from case head to
shoulder). I contacted Nosler directly and they acknowledged, "they had
a problem and were working on it". Personally after paying a premium
price for their product they sure came up with a lame reply. This was
the first time I have bought Nosler brass and will be the last. Thought
you should know as others may encounter the same problem.
