Problems with my Wichita 1375 bolt

Having problems with my Wichita bolt. I think it is the extractor. Waiting for new one. When I fire a round, lift the bolt but it is hard to pull back. I shoot a 6BR with a Krieger barrel, 1/8 twist. I full length size and I make it is the proper length. The last time I shot it, when I pulled the bolt back, (still very hard to pull back), it left the round in the chamber. I am more concern about the bolt being hard to pull back. Please advise. nilebartram

If your chamber is clean w/ reasonable finish-

As you mention difficulty w/ bolt cycle/manipulation.

You probably have little to no primary extraction.

I have the 'phone number to Wichita if parts are needed.

I just put a brand new case in,(Lapua) the case extracted no problem. So what does that mean about my re-sized cases? nilebartram

Is it a 6 br Remington chamber or Norma . The size of the brass at the .200 line is larger with the Lapua brass . You can use a Lapua / Norma chamber with Rem brass but not usually the other way . Use magic marker on your fired case and see location of rub marks .

Like Ggmac said Chamber is probably to small at the back end ! I Had the same thing happen, My smith opened the back end of the chamber problem solved !

Howdy !

I have a WBR1375 also. It is s/n #15 . It has the stock .308 bolt face.

I had Fred Sinclair originally chamber it in my " .22-35 Remington " wildcat.

.35 Remington has a rim diam of .460" . When I asked Fred about the possibility of having some extraction issues,
he stated that a good way to go was with the installation of an " M-16 - style " extractor.

Fred did a superlative job on the extractor install, and I never once had a failure to extract.... whether fired cases or un-fired cartridges.

I have also heard that Sako-style extractors also work well w/ the WBR1375 bolt.
