Problems with my Savage Accu-trigger

Thanks to everybody that responded, I just got back in town and am heading to the range to first try my technique. If that does not help, it will be time to order the rifle basic trigger. Thanks again. John

If someone really wants a RB Sav2 send me a PM, be glad to get rid of it. Installed, tested, then removed, wasn't an improvement for me, maybe it will be for you.

I have found the springs Savage puts on their accutrigger vary in length from year to year. Some are really to long to adjust properly. I machine off .030" off the back of the trigger (with carbide end mill)where the spring screws in. The trigger is hardened steel and you have to use carbide or a stone. I clean out the screw hole with acetone then use a drop of low strength thread locker on the screw after I get it adjusted. With a factory spring (non PTA) about as low as one can go is 8 oz.
