What priming tool that uses a tray will bottom my primers out in the pocket. I have used old lees for years until the handle has broke off the last one. Both large and small primers. Thanks

I’ve been using a Frankfort Arsenal. It allows adjustment of the seating depth. Swaps out pretty quick between large and small primers.

I don't think they fit the old classic round tray tool. I broke the link on mine, replaced it, broke it again several years later then ditched the whole thing when they no longer made parts. Got the Frankford arsenal and really like it.

It fits mine, the old round one, and several have inquired on Midway website saying they do fit.

I have worn out several Lee priming tools over the years and liked them, but all eventually wore flat spots that keep primers from being seated deep enough. I have since moved to the RCBS hand priming tool. It gives me more leverage and the universal shellholder is pretty nice. I have two - one set up for large primers and the second for small primers...pretty handy for the usual small primer cases and really handy with that universal shell holder for my 7 BR.

I bought a Lee Bench Prime and loved it so I bought four more.
I have one set up for
Small pistol primers
One set up for
Small Rifle primers
One set up for
Large Pistol primers
And one set up for
Large Rifle primers
And I have an extra one incase one breaks I have a spare.

Same with the hand priming tools.
I'm set up the same.

For depriming I have for of the Frankford Arsenal Hand Deprimer tools.
They have three plastic incerts for different sizes of brass.
I have three set up with the three different size incerts.
Then I have an extra one incase on breaks.


On reloading dies I have twe sets of dies all set up for every caliber I reload for. If I get a stuck case or bend a stem I just grab the other set and keep going and fix the problem after I get done loading.

I have a stash of Lee stuff for the old round tray units, bought odds and ends, used units that were in good shape.Tried a lot of other priming tools with trays on them, RCBS was OK on the shellholder style version, FA is heavy, but manageable. Now that I'm retired, finding my hand strength is going down, working with Forster and RCBS bench primers, and they work well for me, bit of a learning curve with using the tubes, spilled a few. I won't buy the newer Lee stuff, had a hand version, it wouldn't feed properly most of the time. I still have 4 complete round tray Lees, and pcs to keep running for 4 more, bodies, linkage, handles. Tray lids are something I just tolerate, loose, but, still stay on.

K&M is adjustable and works fine even with uniformed primer pockets for both small and large primers. You can even get an add-on if you wish to go down the primer crush measurement rabbit hole.

I've been trying to get one or two extra primer trays for the FA priming tool with no luck. I'd like to be able to keep unused primers of various types in the trays.

Frankford is the best bang for the buck with a primer tray I find myself using it more than my K&M or my 21st Century

I just put a rubber band around the tray to secure the loose lids.

I keep threatening to go buy some more, retired now, so scabbing them at work is out. My stash of them all broke, deteriorated to the point of being useless, just have to remember to get some when I get to town.

Looks like they are single primer at a time or the one I seen was. Would like a tray

I have an RCBS and a Lyman - both work O.K. If I were looking for a new one - I might try something else.
