I have not experiemented with Varget and N-135 with different primers. However, I did use a load of 25.8 gr. of WW-760, 27.8 gr. Hammett BT HP bullets and the Rem 7½, Federal Gold 205M, and CCI BR-4 primers. These were 5-shot groups and that's not enough shots to draw any real solid conclusion, but here are my results for whatever they are worth. My first chronograph screen was set at 12 feet from the muzzle. Here are the chronograph readings I got from those tests:

25.8 gr. WW-760, 27.8 gr. Hammett and CCI BR-4---3,820 fps

25.8 gr. WW-760, 27.8 gr. Hammett and Rem 7½-----3,805 fps

25.8 gr. WW-760, 27.8 gr. Hammett Fed Gold 205M--3,798 fps

Since you stated that you don't have a chronograph and since no two rifles will produce identical results even with identical loads, I would strongly urge you get a chrongraph or borrow one for shooting your test loads. I think my chronograph is an absolute must to have when working up loads for my rifles.

THANKS SILVERFOX.as luck would have it i was shooting clays today with a friend who is going to lend me a chronograph.ill test my loads then,in the meantime i had some very good results with VARGET-24.7 gns with 20gn berger=3 shots=.128&100yds.
n135-24.2gns with 20gn berger&100yds=.208.iv shot 6 other test loads all shoot under.600&100yds.the rifle has been throated for 20/25 gn bullets with a .197 neck using redding bushing dies and bullet seater.seems this tube likes em going fast ill post any chrono results when im done.garyw.

garyw--It sounds like you have a winner there! Those are some very nice tiny groups and you are just beginning your load testing. Heck, you may have found the right loads already!!!

SILVERFOX;yes i think im at the sweet spot in the rifle im using loads i used before the new barrel went on;personally the new barrel must take a lot of credit and the gunsmith that did the work PETER WALKER -WALKER RIFLES he put on a LILJA 4 GROOVE used reamer from DAVE KIFF P.T.G. ITS A MATCH REAMER.PETER cut the barrel to 22" re-bedded and cleaned up the barrel channel.PETER normally builds 6mmbr rifles on BATT actions and long range 1000yd rifles some have won a few matches over here in the UK.anyway nuff ranting back to re-inventing the wheel.
