17 remington powders

any one out there used rel10 or n133 in 17 remington are they on the fast side for 20-30 gn bullets.i saw on another site someone using n160 will this work?.
any info most welcome,garyw

I have not tried either of the powders you mention, but have had remarkable success with Hodgdon Benchmark. The best results in my experiments were gotten at between 21 - 23+ gr. of Benchmark and a 25 gr. Hornady HP. ...Work up to the 23 gr. level as it is approaching max in my rifle....

I guess I won't be of much help. I haven't tried any of those powders in any of my .17 Remingtons. I have come to rely on N-540 for use with the 30 gr. Starke FB HP bullet in my Lilja barreled .17 Remington and Varget and H4895 for 20 gr., 25 gr. Hornady HP and V-Max, and 26 gr. projectiles in that same rifle.

In my Pac-Nor barreled .17 Remington I have used WW-760 with the 27.8 gr. BT HP Hammett bullets and am working to find a load for that bullet with Varget and H4895. H4895 and Varget give me itty bitty groups using the 25 gr. Hornady HP bullets.
