Primers

Has anyone substituted cci lg rifle for cci br lg rifle primers? And did you see any noticeable difference?

I just ordered a 1000 br2 primers ouch! on the price the reason I am asking I have 2500 std lg rifle I am not cheap but.

I did it on my 308win. Like you I just couldn't stomach the cost of the BR2s. The surprising part (for me anyway) was that there was no change in group size, ES, velocity or anything else. Except of course now my primers don't have that little "B" stamped on them. And I have a little more money to spend on powder, bullets...etc.

I'll go you one better. I stopped using both CCI LR primers, regular or BR, in favor of the Wolf/Tula LR Primers. The Wolf's I bought at the time were $15 per thou and the Tula's were $20 per thou.

I just broke into a case of Tula's just to see if they were the same as the older Wolf (they are) but have about 2500 Wolf's to go. I no longer buy the more expensive CCI BR-2's or Fed GMM210M's. The Wolf/Tula's are showing that they are just as good and only small changes in charge weight were necessary.

When all my CCI's and Fed's are gone it'll be nothing but Tula for me. That is if I ever have to buy primers again 8)
