Primers for the .284?

I got my new .284 build for hunting. I am going to try the 162 AMAX for starters buy out of the CCI BR-2 primer,210 and 215-whitch one would be the best using RL17? Thanks

I have had good results using the CCI BR-2 with RL-17 in my 284 F-class rifle, ES and SD in the single digits, very tight groups.

Of the 3 mentioned, the F-210 does the best job in my .284's..
Have you considered the LRM Wolf Russian primers, they are priced right and they do very well, as soon as my collection of 210's is finished off I will shoot the Russians again seeing they do as well or better..........

i have seen the 162Amax work extremely well out to 650yds.DRT!
at 850yds it failed to open from a 7 rem mag but it came home with us.I would look hard at the Berger 168/180VLD if the 162's become hard to find, especially if you're going to stretch out the effective range.

I have checked velocity spreads with the 284 over the crono with various primers. So far I have found the best to be Win WLR, CCI BR2 and the Russian LR primers. With 2 different actions and barrels, the Russians and CCi were only very lightly ahead of the Win WLR and others were further back. This was with H4350 and H4831SC,Or AR2209 and AR2213sc). Some guns love the russian primers, some hate them, most likely to do with the firing pin and firing pin spring.
Of course if you have a different throat, barrel, jammed VS jumped, bullets, firing pin etc, the results might vary.
